In this class students will draft and fit the following blocks: Loose bodice(top), waist length fitted bodice, fitted torso block, sleeve, pants, and skirt. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJoin Stephanie Mould for a step-by-step entry level pattern drafting class. In the workshop you\u003cbr\u003ewill learn to make a set of blocks in your personal measurements!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA “block” is a master pattern with ease, darts, and necklines drawn in custom, they are usually in a thin cardboard for sturdiness and to trace out.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSmall class size of 6 students max.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhat You’ll Learn:\u003cbr\u003e1. How to Take Measurements:\u003cbr\u003eYou’ll learn how to take proper body measurements using a measuring tape for yourself or a client.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e2. How to draft a block:\u003cbr\u003eDon’t be scared, but this is math (fractions and light geometry). If you hate math, that’s ok! I’m here to help with every step and phone calculators are encouraged.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003e3. How to Correctly use Drafting Rulers:\u003cbr\u003eYou will learn how to accurately use pattern drafting rulers such as the French curve, hip\u003cbr\u003ecurve, and square rulers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003e4. How to Transfer Block Drafts to a Sewing Pattern:\u003cbr\u003eYou will learn how to properly use tracing paper to create a pattern with seam allowance, grainlines, and fold lines. There will be a 1 week break for the students to sew a muslin “mock-up”. This will require anywhere from ½ yard to 2 yards depending on what block. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003e5. How to Make Alterations to the Mock-Up:\u003cbr\u003eLearn how to tell where the mock-up needs to be taken in, and how to transfer that to\u003cbr\u003eyour draft.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003e6. How to Transfer Draft to Cardstock:\u003cbr\u003eThe final step of the workshop is transferring your block draft onto cardstock using an\u003cbr\u003eAwl. Then you will cut out and holepunch!
